4 Apr 2009 - Ranger Workday - 10:00am Start (Trinity St.) Bristol to Bath Railway Path
Dear Bristol Rangers,
You may already be aware that I am organising a work day for all the Bristol and Bath Ranger Groups on Saturday 4th April.
Why??
It will be an opportunity for the ranger groups to meet up with each other and also find out what's happening at Sustrans this year and at the same time do some useful work along the Bristol to Bath railway path. There will be no formal ranger training day this year so this will be an opportunity to catch up with other rangers and what's happening in Sustrans. I will have a short presentation for you to see at lunch time.
Agenda:
Meet at 10:00am at the Bristol end of the Bristol Bath path
Cycle along the path undertaking general maintenance tasks such as:
Litter picking, Removing graffiti, Signing entrances onto the path, Tidying up signage, Trimming encouraging vegetation
Lunch at 1:00pm at The Bird in Hand at Saltford where we will meet up with the Bath Ranger Group.
After lunch I will continue to Bath with the Bath rangers and leave you to cycle back to Bristol continuing with maintain ace tasks.
Please can you let me know if you can come along as I will need to let the Bird in Hand know how many to expect. If you are coming please bring a paint scrapper, secateurs and gloves. I will provide litter pickers, hammer and nails and rubbish bags.
I hope you can come - It will be great to see you
Best wishes
Jane

18 Oct 2008 - Workday on NCN Route 26
As agreed at the NW Bristol Rangers' meeting on Tuesday, David Neale has arranged a workday in the vicinity of the M5 tunnel.
The selected date is Saturday 18th October, meeting at the Stronghold sculpture at 9:00 AM or as soon as possible thereafter. We should finish by midday.
NCN 26 is the link from the Avonmouth Bridge (NCN 41) through the M5 railway tunnel to Portishead.
The aim is to prune any obstructing vegetation between the Avonmouth Bridge and Sheepway and to review signage along the route, which should be OK following work in the area by North Somerset Council. However, it would be useful to have on site some NCN26 signage material - just in case.
David has gardening equipment, but will need help to transport it as he will be traveling by bike.
Please let David know if you will be there and if you can bring signage materials or help with the transport of gardening equipment from the address below.
